The poet Jan Satunovskii (1913-1982) belongs
to a selection of Russian poets who wrote
absurd and minimal poetry. Daniil Kharms,
Nikolai Oleinikov and Vladimir Maiakovskii
were other poets who worked in this style. All
had their influence (though often indirect) on
contemporary Russian poetry. For his
publication of verses by Satunovskii, Goppe
choose a typographic design, that closely
relates to the constructivist period (the 1930s)
in which these poets had their formative years.
