                                                                     ‘Mother cleaned the window’ is a series of verse-lines for index
                                                                     cards for which Lev Rubinshtein (born 1947) became famous.
                                                                     For this 83 verse-lines Goppe choose a simple printing design
                                                                     and, to underline that this collection was written in 1987, added
                                                                     a small illustrated Soviet children’s book from the 1980s to the
                                                                     central pages,. A colour lithograph adorns the cover. The book
                                                                     has special wrappings with water-colours that show a slightly
                                                                     satirical image of how collectors had to find a place to stay in
                                                                     Moscow in order to collect and transport artist’s books.
