                                                                           Polina Slutskina (born as Pauline Landon in
                                                                           1947) is a philologist, artist, poet, writer, and
                                                                           photographer who started publishing her works in
                                                                           the 1990s. She worked in Moscow as an English
                                                                           teacher but studied also Japanese language and
                                                                           culture. For the publication of this collection of her
                                                                           poetry, Goppe used the backside of an old Soviet
                                                                           poster to print on the verses in hand setting and
                                                                           adorned these with small square silk screen
                                                                           illustrations mounted next to the text.
