Anatalii Naiman (born 1936) is a poet, translator and
essayist. He started writing poetry in 1954 and befriended
the great poet Anna Akhmatova (1889-1966) in 1959 with
whom he translated poetry. Naiman’s poetry reflects on his
spiritual experiences and the relations between people. His
work is far from political and more narrative and descriptive,
expressing balance and peace. This book, that Goppe
arranged and illustrated with colour silk screen images, is a
presentation of the poem Circus by Naiman.
